ABOUT THE EVENT- COVID-19 RESPONSE
In response to the risk posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of protecting the health of all involved, The Children’s Christmas Party of Jacksonville will not be able to hold our in-person toy distribution event this December, 2020. We hope to serve families through our traditional toy giveaway event in December 2021 when it is once again safe to gather in large groups.
A LEGACY OF SMILES CONTINUES
Our mission is “to provide toys to Jacksonville’s children who otherwise might not receive toys for the holiday season” and we have fulfilled that mission for 21 years since Travis and Margaret Storey started this event in 1999.
It is our intention to fulfill our mission in this year of the pandemic by safely providing 15,000 toys to approximately 5,000 children-in-need who are currently enrolled in several pre-selected non-profit programs in Duval County.
2019 RECAP - A NORMAL YEAR
Last year, on a cold December day, 4,000 children along with their parents waited in a long line at the Christmas Party for a chance to meet Santa and pick out several new toys. Hundreds of volunteers enjoyed handing out toys to the children as well as provided entertainment and security.
The children went home with warm smiles, fun toys and special memories, just what every child, in every family, should have during the holidays.
